Julius Caesar: Brutus' Diary

March, Sometime B.C.

Today was a troubling day. I found out Cassius is not the man I thought he was. While Caesar was being offered a crown, we talked. He brought up a point that both troubled and intruiging point. He saw that, Caesar, would stop at nothing to seize full control of Rome. This was further proved, when Casca said he was offered the crown three times, and was a little more resiliant to refusing it each time. This shows, that he wants the power, but will wait. I love Caesar. This makes everything very hard. Cassius is suggesting killing Caesar. I don't know if I could go through with that, but Cassius says I will be hailed as a hero. This troubles me, it brings up the question, who do I love more? Caesar or Rome? Considering Caesar does want this power, then if I don't take action, how powerful will he become? Will Rome fall under the rule of one ruler? Will we go back to ages of the Tarquins? Or do I help with the assassination? What if by assassinating him, we send Rome into turmoil? Hmmmm I think I will wait and see....
