Blog Assignment 1 - Silent Reading Book Introduction
5. I think this is a very enjoyable book, and I would recommend it to anyone who is bored during silent reading in English. I would give it an 8 out10. I dislike how short it is though. If it was a couple pages longer, I think it would have been more enjoyable.

4. The character I'm choosing is Rainsford. Two personality traits he shows are: Clever, and calm. He is very clever. He makes traps to kill the General, but also to slow his progress. He is very calm because even when this man is chasing him to kill him, he thinks clearly about what to do. He makes no mistakes, because he knows if he makes one he could be killed.

The setting is on a small island. The island is just off the coast of New York City. It is set around the time when the author was alive most likely, probably the 1930's. The atmosphere is always tense because Rainsford is always running for his life.

2. The short story is about man named Rainsford. He and his friend are on a ship going to Rio. He is a world class hunter, and they hope to find some good game there. He fell off the boat, and swan to a nearby island. He got to shore and walked to find people, since he heard a gunshot somewhere. He found a large house. He finds an odd man living in this house. He hunts people. He challenges Rainsford to evade him on the island for 3 days, after the third day he would make sure Rainsford got home okay. Raisnford then proceedes to hide certain places. The "General" found him multiple times, but did not shoot him, but rather toy with them. Eventually Rainsford sets traps. On time it almost killed the General, the next one killed on of his hunting dogs, and the last one killed his assistant Ivan. Eventually Rainsford jumps in the water, and swims to the house, where he waits until the General comes back, and kills him.
